Family Photos of Henry Schmidt’s Meadowbrook Hotel in Westbury
As a follow-up to the 2020 Mystery Foto #7 of the Meadowbrook Hotel, the owner's great-grandson Michael White has forwarded two photos from the Schmidt/White family album. The photos are from the collection of Thomas Schmidt, another great-grandson.

Henry Schmidt's Meadowbrook Hotel was located on the intersection of Old Country Road and Post Avenue in Westbury and on the course for the 1909 and 1910 Vanderbilt Cup Races.

The hotel was built and owned by Henry C. Schmidt in 1892
Until 1912, the hotel was managed by Henry Schmidt. From 1912 to 1917, it was run by Carl W. Schmidt. It was sold to Charles Himmel in the spring of 1917.

Later Images
At some point, the Meadowbrook Hotel was converted into the restaurant Felice of Westbury. Note the original building above the front facade.
Later the building was torn down and now is Cafe Baci.
