Vanderbilt Cup Races

One classic car that really caught my eye at the 2011 Cradle of Aviation Museum Car Show hosted by the Long Island Sound Region of CCCA was this beautiful 1931 V-8 Cadillac. Look closer at the radiator and you will see two authentic Motor Parkway license plates in mint condition and previously not recorded in the Motor Parkway License Plate Census.

 

  #130 is the 11th surviving Motor Parkway plate for 1932...the highest quantity of the 30 different Motor Parkway plates. 
 

 #7 is the 7th known existing plate for the final year in which the Motor Parkway porcelain plates were produced.

From 1912 to 1937, an estimated 7,400 Long Island Motor Parkway license plates were manufactured including 6,700 regular plates and 700 golf club plates. Adding the two new plates shown above, here are the  known surviving plates. If you have a Motor Parkway plate that is not listed, please send a jpeg to me at [email protected] .
