Opening Night Reception for the “Cars, Culture and the City” Exhibition

Last night, the Museum of the City of New York held a reception to celebrate the opening of the "Cars, Culture, and the City " exhibition. VanderbiltCupRaces.com was there and has photos of the first exhibition to explore the pivotal role that New York City played in creating American car Culture.

The exhibition is beautfully displayed.

Vanderbilt Cup Race memorabilia are exhibited in the "Born to Race" section.

The 1904 Vanderbilt Cup Race film was a crowd favorite.

Motor Parkway memorabilia are highlighted in the parkway section of the exhibition.

Models from the 1964 World's Fair are featured.

Over 500 people attended the opening reception.

This marvelous exhibition has recently been reviewed in the New York Times, DNAinfo.com and the Regional Planning Association website.

March 29, 2010 Update: Another review of the exhibition on streetsblog.org
