LIU's Palmer School of Library & Information Science received a $1.5 million grant in 2016 to digitize materials in 80 local historical societies and museums. Several of William K. Vanderbilt, Jr.'s personal photo albums have now been posted online by LIU. (5 comments)

Update From the Pickering Collection: Images of the Vanderbilt Cup Races and Long Island
Roslyn resident William Pickering (1865-1929) was one of the earliest Long Island photographers documenting many of the people, buildings and events in Nassau County including the Vanderbilt Cup Races. In 2009, Catherine Pickering shared with me these photos and postcards taken by her grandfather. (5 comments)

Helck Family Collection: Distinguished service citation for Joe Tracy awarded by Automobile Old Timers in 1948
